Arenal Volcano and Rainforest 

Arenal Volcano is in northwestern Costa Rica. There, the rainforest has been nicknamed ‘The Jewel of the Earth’, and you’ll uncover its riches with a hike at the foothills of the volcano. Passing through various flora and fauna, you’ll also make your way to the park’s natural hot springs near a waterfall, where you are welcome to take a dip.

The cone-shaped Arenal Volcano is still active, last erupting in 1968. Part of the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area, this 790-square-mile national park is home to 850 different bird species, as well as Capuchin monkeys and jaguars.
